Horacio Arredondo Documentary
Horacio Arredondo was a pioneer in the development of tourism in Uruguay during the 1920s
Under his initiative and supervision, major heritage reconstruction projects were carried out, including the Santa Teresa Fortress, the San Miguel Fort, and the Montevideo Hill Fortress, among other works.
Arredondo is recognized as the creator of Santa Teresa National Park, leaving a lasting historical and cultural legacy.
This documentary, directed by Eduardo Keuchkerián and produced by Sin Fronteras Producciones, tells the story of Horacio Arredondo’s life and work. It highlights the reconstruction of fortifications such as the Santa Teresa Fortress, the San Miguel Fort, the Montevideo Hill Fortress, the Oribe Customs House in Montevideo, the Pérez Mill, and other heritage restoration projects, as well as his pioneering vision for tourism in Uruguay.
The documentary was produced in January 2017 and released in October 2019.
The project was selected by the National Fund for Culture of the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC), through the National Directorate of Culture.
